Host a tournament in Dortmund
Dortmund needs three venues, matching the North, East and South Dortmund grounds. Each one stages five weeks of 5-a-side football for up to 128 amateur teams (a minimum of 64) in April and May 2027, and MCC brings the entries, the format and the prize fund. The sections below describe the commitment and the application.
What a Dortmund venue takes on
Dortmund hosts commit pitch time to 40-minute match slots on the fixture dates: three April weekends of group games, knockouts from 30 April and the 9 May 2027 final. A ground takes 64 to 128 teams. MCC brings the officials and crew from its join page.
Which part of Dortmund each ground covers
North Dortmund covers the Nordstadt, Eving and Scharnhorst. East Dortmund covers Körne, Wambel and Brackel, with the towns toward Unna. South Dortmund covers Hombruch, Hörde and the districts toward Witten. Sites go for the ground whose area contains them. The Dortmund page's live cards mark the grounds that have a confirmed venue.
How to apply in Dortmund
Pitch owners put a site forward through the MCC application. One venue per Dortmund ground gets confirmed and signs an agreement, after which the city page names it. Clubs, commercial centres and school sites all use the same form, whatever their size.
Questions from Dortmund venues
Can a club ground with artificial turf host?
Yes. A club ground with artificial turf can apply like any other site. Clubs, commercial centres and school sites all use the same pitch owner application, and MCC confirms one venue for each ground.
Is there a preference for central Dortmund sites?
No. The grounds are areas of the city and nearby towns, and teams choose the one closest to them. A venue in Hörde or Eving fits its ground as well as one near the centre.
What happens if two venues apply for one ground?
Only one venue is confirmed for each ground. MCC signs an agreement with it, and the Dortmund page then names that venue for teams entering the ground. The live cards show which grounds already have a venue.
