Host a tournament in Glasgow
One venue is wanted on each of MCC's three Glasgow grounds, North Glasgow, East Glasgow and South Glasgow. Whoever signs runs a whole ground of the 5-a-side tournament between 9 April and 9 May 2027, while MCC supplies the format, entries, fixtures and prize money. What follows is aimed at Glasgow sports centres and pitch operators.
What hosting a Glasgow ground involves
Hosting means giving over pitch time on the three group weekends, then the playoff dates leading to the 9 May final. Matches run in 40-minute slots, and each ground holds 64 to 128 teams. MCC supplies the format, the entries, the fixtures and the officials; the venue hosts the matches on the fixture dates.
Where the three Glasgow grounds sit
North Glasgow is centred on Maryhill, Springburn and Possilpark. East Glasgow covers Dennistoun, Parkhead and Shettleston, and South Glasgow takes in Shawlands, Pollokshaws, Cathcart and Rutherglen. A venue is confirmed for one of these three grounds, and teams from the surrounding districts register to play there.
Applying as a pitch owner
A Glasgow pitch owner applies through the pitch owner programme. One venue is chosen for each of the three grounds, and an agreement is signed with it. Only then does the Glasgow page carry the venue's name, so registering teams know where their ground is played. Grounds with no signed venue stay marked open.

Any pitch owner can apply, whether the site is a club, a leisure centre or an education facility. Only one venue is confirmed per ground, and its name goes on this city page once the agreement is signed.
How many Glasgow grounds need a venue?
Three: North Glasgow, East Glasgow and South Glasgow, with a single venue confirmed for each. The live cards show which grounds already have a signed venue and which are open. Group matches fall across the 9 April, 16 April and 23 April weekends, with each final on 9 May.
Who supplies teams and officials for the Glasgow grounds?
Teams register through this site, and each ground fills with 64 to 128 of them. Match officials (a referee, two assistants, a fourth official) and crew come through the join page, never from the teams. The Glasgow venue's part is hosting matches in 40-minute slots on the fixture dates.
