Host a tournament in Plovdiv
MCC needs one venue for each of three Plovdiv Metro grounds: Plovdiv Centre, Perushtitsa Sports Hall and Plovdiv North. A host receives a field of 64 to 128 amateur teams in the spring, and MCC takes care of the format, entries, fixtures and prizes. If you operate a hall or minifootball pitches in Plovdiv or the province, this page sets out what hosting involves.
What a Plovdiv venue takes on
The venue provides pitch time on three April weekends, on the playoff dates and for a final on the ninth of May. With 40 minutes per match, a hall with one or two courts can host a ground toward the lower end, and a multi-pitch site can take a larger field. MCC provides the teams, the rules and the officials.
Which Plovdiv ground your site belongs to
A venue applies for the ground that matches its location: Plovdiv Centre for the middle of the city, Perushtitsa Sports Hall for the area around Perushtitsa, and Plovdiv North for the northern districts. The live cards on the Plovdiv page show which grounds already have a signed venue.
Applying as a pitch owner
Apply as a pitch owner. MCC confirms one venue for each of the three grounds and signs an agreement, after which the Plovdiv page names the venue for teams. Until then the live cards show which of the grounds are still without a signed venue.
Questions from Plovdiv venues
Can an indoor sports hall host a Plovdiv ground?
Yes, an indoor hall can apply as a pitch owner. The agreement covers hosting matches in 40-minute slots on the fixture dates, so a hall needs its courts free on those weekends for a ground of up to 128 teams.
Does the venue have to be inside Plovdiv itself?
No. The grounds cover the metro area, and the Perushtitsa Sports Hall ground covers the area around Perushtitsa, outside the city itself. A site applies for whichever ground its location serves, and MCC confirms one venue for each.
Who handles entries and referees?
MCC does. Teams register on this site, and match officials and crew are recruited through the join page. The venue offers its space on the fixture dates, and teams never appoint officials.
