Host a tournament in Hamburg
MCC needs a Hamburg venue for each of its three grounds. Hosting means accommodating as many as 128 amateur teams from the first group match on 9 April to the final on 9 May 2027, with the entries, fixtures, format and prize fund provided by MCC. Operators of artificial pitches and Soccerhallen on either side of the Elbe can find the details here.
What a Hamburg host takes on
The venue gives its pitches to the fixture list: group matches on three April weekends, then playoff dates up to the final on 9 May. Matches use 40-minute slots, so a modest set of pitches is enough for a full ground, and a smaller site can host one with at least 64 teams.
Choosing between North, East and Harburg
North covers Eppendorf, Winterhude, Barmbek and Langenhorn. East covers Wandsbek, Rahlstedt and Billstedt. Harburg/South covers the south bank, including Harburg and Wilhelmsburg, a short ride from the centre by S-Bahn. A venue applies for the area where it sits, and the live cards show which grounds are still open.
Applying to be a pitch owner
Operators of artificial pitches and Soccerhallen on either side of the Elbe complete the pitch owner application for the ground that covers their area. MCC confirms one venue for each Hamburg ground and signs an agreement, and the Hamburg page then names it.
Questions from Hamburg venues
Can an indoor Soccerhalle host a ground?
A hall can apply through the pitch owner application like any other site, for the Hamburg ground that covers its area. Hosting means matches in 40-minute slots on the fixture dates, which run from 9 April to 9 May 2027.
Does Harburg/South include Wilhelmsburg?
The ground covers the south bank of the Elbe, so a venue in Wilhelmsburg or Harburg and the area around them fits it. The live card for the ground shows its status.
Who appoints match officials at a Hamburg ground?
MCC. Referees, assistants and crew are recruited through the join page, and venues and teams never appoint them. The Pitch Champion's $20,000 is paid from the published prize fund, not by the venue.
