Host a tournament in Munich
MCC needs three venues in Munich, one for each of the North Munich, East Munich and Unterhaching/South grounds. Whoever hosts a ground stages five weeks of 5-a-side for 64 to 128 amateur teams in the spring of 2027; MCC supplies the format, entries and prize fund. This page covers what hosting a ground involves.
What a Munich venue takes on
A Munich venue lends its pitches for 40-minute match slots on the fixture dates. The group stage fills three April weekends, the playoffs begin on 30 April and the ground's final is on 9 May 2027. Between 64 and 128 teams enter a ground. MCC recruits the match officials and crew through its join page.
Which areas the Munich grounds cover
North Munich takes in Schwabing, Milbertshofen and the districts along the U2 and U6 lines. East Munich covers Haidhausen, Berg am Laim, Trudering and Riem. Unterhaching/South serves Giesing, Sendling and the municipalities south of the ring road. Sites apply for the area they stand in; the live cards on the Munich page show which grounds have a venue.
How a Munich venue applies
The venue route is the MCC pitch owner application. One venue per ground is confirmed and signs an agreement, then the Munich page names it for that ground's teams. A club, a commercial centre or a school site in the right area can apply.
Questions from Munich venues
Can a sports club in Munich host a ground?
Yes. A club, a commercial futsal or soccer centre or a school site can apply, as long as it has suitable small-sided pitches and the hours to run the fixtures. The pitch owner application is the same for every kind of site.
Who supplies the teams and officials for a Munich ground?
Teams register with MCC and are placed on a ground by area. A referee, two assistants and a fourth official are recruited by MCC through the join page, and the venue's part is to host the matches.
Is Unterhaching/South limited to Unterhaching itself?
No. The ground is an area covering the south of Munich and the neighbouring towns. A site in Giesing, Sendling or Unterhaching fits it, and most teams will prefer the venue nearest where they live or work.
