Host a tournament in Nairobi

Nairobi has three grounds, North Nairobi, East Nairobi and South-West Nairobi, with one confirmed venue to come for each. The venue hosts that ground's 5-a-side fixtures between 9 April and 9 May 2027, each in a 40-minute slot. Anyone who owns pitches in Nairobi may apply, and the Nairobi page names a venue after it signs.

What a Nairobi venue takes on

Hosting a ground means staging its matches, one per 40-minute slot, over three April weekends, then the playoffs and a final on 9 May 2027. Each ground draws 64 to 128 teams and produces one Pitch Champion. MCC provides the entries, the format and the match officials, so the venue's part is the matches themselves.

Which parts of Nairobi each ground covers

North Nairobi covers Thika Road, Kasarani, Ruaraka and Roysambu. East Nairobi covers Embakasi, Donholm, Buruburu and the wider Eastlands. South-West Nairobi covers Karen, Langata, Ngong Road and Dagoretti. A venue goes forward for the ground it sits in, and the Nairobi page's live cards mark which of the three has one.

How a Nairobi pitch owner applies

Owners use the pitch owner application. For each ground a single venue is confirmed, with an MCC agreement, and the Nairobi page then shows it by name. A pitch's district settles which of the three grounds it would host, and so which venue slot it fills.

Questions from Nairobi venues

Does a Nairobi venue need artificial turf?

The contract does not name a surface. A venue confirmed through the pitch owner programme hosts matches in 40-minute slots on the fixture dates, under an agreement signed with MCC.

Can a school or university ground apply?

Yes. Schools and universities that own pitches in Nairobi can use the pitch owner application like anyone else. A single venue is confirmed per ground, and the Nairobi page names it after the agreement is signed.

Who supplies teams and referees at a Nairobi venue?

MCC covers both sides. Teams enter through MCC, and the referees and crew are recruited through the join page. Because teams never appoint officials, a venue arranges neither, and its job is the ground's matches on the fixture dates.
