Host a tournament in Accra
Each of the three Accra grounds, North Accra, Tema/East and West Accra, gets one confirmed venue. That venue stages the ground's 5-a-side matches in 40-minute slots between 9 April and 9 May 2027. The page is written for people who own pitches in greater Accra, and a venue is named on the Accra page after it signs.
What an Accra venue takes on
Taking a ground means staging its matches in 40-minute slots on the fixture dates. Those are three group weekends in April, playoffs from 30 April and the ground's final on 9 May 2027. The ground itself holds 64 to 128 teams and ends with one Pitch Champion on $20,000. Entries, format and match officials are MCC's to supply.
Which areas the grounds cover
North Accra covers Madina, Adenta and the neighbourhoods around them. Tema/East reaches Spintex, the port town and the neighbourhoods running toward the airport and the coast road. West Accra takes in Dansoman, Kaneshie and the districts out toward Weija. A venue belongs to whichever ground its pitches stand in, and the live cards on the Accra page show which of the three has a venue.
How to apply
Start with the pitch owner application. From the applications MCC confirms a single venue for each ground and signs an agreement with it, after which the Accra page names that venue. Owners of pitches anywhere in greater Accra can apply, and the ground a pitch sits in is the one it would host.
Questions from Accra venues
Can a site in Tema host a ground?
Yes. Tema falls within the Tema/East ground. A pitch owner there applies in the same way as one anywhere else in greater Accra, and a venue is confirmed for that ground through the pitch owner programme.
How many pitches does an Accra ground use?
The pitch count follows the ground's entries, since a ground takes 64 to 128 teams and every match needs a 40-minute slot. Group matches fall on three April weekends, and the agreement signed with the venue covers that ground's fixture dates.
Who provides the teams and referees at an Accra venue?
Teams enter through MCC, so the venue does not recruit them. The officials are MCC's as well: a referee, two assistants and a fourth official, plus crew, recruited through the join page. Teams never appoint officials, which leaves the venue nothing to arrange there.
