Host a tournament in Dakar
Dakar has three grounds, North Dakar, Pikine/East and West Dakar, and each gets a single confirmed venue. Between 9 April and 9 May 2027 that venue hosts the ground's 5-a-side fixtures, each in a 40-minute slot. People who own pitches on the peninsula or in the suburbs can apply. The Dakar page names the venue after an agreement is signed.
What a Dakar venue takes on
A Dakar venue stages the matches of its ground. Each one takes a 40-minute slot, and the dates are three group weekends in April, then playoffs and the ground's closing final on 9 May 2027. A ground fills with 64 to 128 teams, the winner takes the $20,000 Pitch Champion prize, and MCC provides entries, format and match officials.
Where the three Dakar grounds sit
North Dakar covers Yoff, Ngor and the airport side. Pikine/East covers Pikine, Guédiawaye and the suburbs along the Autoroute. West Dakar covers Plateau, Médina, Ouakam and Mermoz. A venue goes with the ground it falls in, and the Dakar page's live cards show which of the three has a signed agreement.
Applying as a pitch owner
The route in is the pitch owner application. MCC settles on a venue for every ground, signs the agreement, then names it on the Dakar page. Where a pitch stands, on the peninsula or inland, decides which ground it would host.
Questions from Dakar venues
Can a beachside or sand pitch apply?
Owners of pitches anywhere in the Dakar area can use the pitch owner application. Once one venue per ground is confirmed and its agreement signed, the venue appears on the Dakar page.
Does the venue need to be on the peninsula?
No. The Pikine/East ground covers the suburbs inland, so a site in Pikine or Guédiawaye applies for that ground. North Dakar and West Dakar are the two peninsula grounds, and each gets one venue.
Who provides referees and teams at a Dakar venue?
MCC does. Entries are taken through MCC, and the referees and crew come through the join page. Teams never appoint officials themselves, so the venue's role stops at hosting the ground's matches on the fixture dates.
