Host a tournament in Mexico City

Three Mexico City venues are wanted: North Metro, East Metro and South-West Metro each need one. The site that takes a ground hosts its Pitch Round for 64 to 128 amateur teams from 9 April to 9 May 2027, while MCC handles the format and the fixtures. Owners of canchas, turf complexes and sports clubs can apply here.

What a Mexico City venue takes on

A Mexico City venue runs its ground in 40-minute slots on the fixture dates. Four-team groups play on three April weekends, playoffs begin on 30 April, and the final closes the ground on 9 May. Each ground holds between 64 and 128 teams.

Which areas each ground covers

North Metro takes the north of the city and neighbouring Naucalpan and Tlalnepantla. East Metro takes Iztapalapa, Iztacalco and the east. South-West Metro takes Coyoacán, Benito Juárez, Álvaro Obregón and Tlalpan. Owners apply for the ground their site lies in, and the Mexico City page cards show which are still open.

How a Mexico City venue applies

Owners start with the pitch owner application. MCC picks one venue per ground, signs its agreement, and the Mexico City page then names that venue for the teams in the ground. The live cards show which of the three grounds are settled.

Questions from Mexico City venues

Can a business renting out canchas host a ground?

Yes. A business renting out canchas can use the pitch owner application like any other owner. One venue is confirmed per ground and signs an agreement with MCC, and the Mexico City page then names it.

Does the venue need to be inside the city limits?

No. The grounds are metro areas, so a site in a neighbouring municipality can fit North Metro as well as one inside the city boundary. Teams will generally choose the venue closest to home.

Who supplies the teams and officials?

MCC does. Teams register on this site, and match officials and crew are recruited via the join page. Venues and teams never appoint the referee, the two assistants or the fourth official.
