Host a tournament in Montevideo
MCC needs one venue for each of three Montevideo grounds, West, Central and East. The venue runs a tournament for amateur teams between 9 April and 9 May 2027, and the rules, schedule, entries and prize money are all arranged by MCC. If you operate fútbol 5 or futsal pitches anywhere in the city, this page sets out what hosting involves and how to apply.
What a Montevideo venue takes on
The venue's job is to put on one ground's matches in 40-minute slots: three group weekends in April, a knockout stage after that and a closing day on 9 May. Entries decide how many teams the ground gets, from 64 to 128, and its Pitch Champion plays on in the Uruguay Country Championship.
Which side of the city a venue serves
West Montevideo is the Cerro, La Teja and the bay. Central Montevideo is the Centro, Cordon and Tres Cruces. East Montevideo is Pocitos, Malvin, Carrasco and the coast beyond. Owners apply for the area containing their site, and the cards on the Montevideo page show which grounds have a venue confirmed.
The pitch owner application
Pitch owners make their case through the pitch owner application. MCC picks one venue for each ground and signs an agreement. After that the Montevideo page shows the venue's name for teams registering there; before it, the ground's card shows none.
Questions from Montevideo venues
How many Montevideo venues will MCC confirm?
Three, one for each ground. A venue takes part for its own ground only, hosting that ground's fixtures, and it appears on the Montevideo page once its agreement with MCC is signed.
Does a venue need to be near the sea?
No. The grounds are areas of the city, and the West and Central grounds sit away from the beach barrios, so inland sites are as welcome as coastal ones, and owners apply for the area that holds the site.
Who provides teams, officials and prizes?
MCC handles all of it. Teams register on this site, referees and crew arrive through the join page, and the Pitch Champion's $20,000 is drawn from the published fund. The venue lends its pitches.
