Host a tournament in Porto Alegre
Porto Alegre needs three venues, one per North, East and South Zone ground. A ground can hold up to 128 amateur teams, and MCC provides the format, sign-ups and fixture list. Operators of futsal courts or society pitches in the city will find the details below.
What a Porto Alegre venue takes on
A Porto Alegre venue offers its courts or pitches for one ground's matches, each in a 40-minute slot. Group games run on 9 to 11, 16 to 18 and 23 to 25 April, then playoffs from 30 April and the final on 9 May. Since a ground holds 64 to 128 teams, a site with several courts gets through the calendar more easily.
How the three zones divide the city
Navegantes and Sarandi fall under the North Zone, Partenon and Lomba do Pinheiro under the East Zone, and Tristeza, Cavalhada and the other lakeshore districts under the South Zone. Apply for whichever zone your site is in. The live cards on the Porto Alegre page indicate which zones already have a venue confirmed.
How to apply
The pitch owner application is the way in. MCC confirms one venue for each of the three zones and signs an agreement with it. Teams registering for a zone can see the venue named on the Porto Alegre page once that is done.
Questions from Porto Alegre venues
Which zone would a site near Tristeza apply for?
The South Zone, which serves Tristeza, Cavalhada and the neighbourhoods along the lakeshore. A site belongs to the zone it stands in, and only one venue is confirmed per ground.
Can a club with its own members host a ground?
Yes, if it can offer enough pitch hours on the fixture weekends for teams from outside its membership. The ground is open to any registered amateur team that picks that zone.
Who handles entries, referees and the prize?
All of that sits with MCC. Entries come in through this site, and officials and crew sign up on the join page. Teams never appoint officials. Your side is the courts and the match slots.
