Host a tournament in New York Metro
MCC will confirm three venues in the New York metro area, one for each of the Bronx/Westchester, Queens/Long Island and North Jersey grounds. Whoever hosts a ground stages the whole tournament for 64 to 128 amateur teams, between 9 April and 9 May 2027. MCC provides the format, the entries and the prize fund.
What a New York area venue takes on
A New York venue hosts four-team groups across the first three April weekends, then playoffs from 30 April and the ground's final on 9 May. The venue's part is the matches themselves, played in 40-minute slots on those dates. Entry numbers set the size of the job, since a ground can draw anywhere from 64 to 128 teams. Indoor courts and outdoor turf both suit the format.
Where a venue fits the three grounds
Bronx/Westchester suits fields in the Bronx and the Westchester towns along the Hudson and the New Haven line. Queens/Long Island suits sites in Queens and Nassau County. North Jersey suits venues in Hudson, Essex and Bergen counties. Venues apply for the area in which they sit, and one venue is confirmed for each ground.
Applying through the pitch owner programme
The route in is the MCC pitch owner application. From the applications for an area, MCC confirms one venue per ground and signs an agreement with it. The venue then appears by name on the New York Metro page, which is where teams signing up to that ground learn where they will play.
Questions from New York area venues
Can a rooftop or school field apply as a pitch owner?
Any pitch owner may apply, whatever the setting. What happens next is the same for all: MCC confirms a single venue for each ground, signs an agreement, and names the venue on the New York Metro page. Its role is hosting matches in 40-minute slots on the fixture dates.
Does a venue in Brooklyn or Manhattan have a ground?
The three grounds are Bronx/Westchester, Queens/Long Island and North Jersey. A venue in Brooklyn or Manhattan applies as a pitch owner, and MCC confirms which of the three grounds it hosts.
Who recruits the referees and crew for a ground?
MCC does. Referees, assistants and crew are recruited through the join page, and a team never gets to pick its officials. Entries come in through the city page. The venue is there to host, and it does not need to bring teams or officials.
