Host a tournament in Philadelphia
Each Philadelphia ground, North Metro, West Metro and South Metro, needs one venue. The venue stages a round for as many as 128 amateur teams during the Pitch Round, which runs 9 April to 9 May 2027, with MCC covering the format, fixtures, entries and the $20,000 prize. Turf, courts or fields anywhere in the Philadelphia region could qualify, and this page sets out what hosting involves.
What hosting a Philadelphia ground means
Philadelphia group matches take three weekends of April, then comes the playoff schedule and a final on 9 May, so the main demand is pitch time. Slots last 40 minutes, and a ground holds from 64 up to 128 teams. The venue plays host on the fixture dates, with MCC handling the format, the entries and the draw.
Which Philadelphia area your site fits
The Northeast, Germantown and the northern suburbs make up North Metro. West Philadelphia, the Main Line and the western suburbs make up West Metro, and South Philadelphia with Delaware County makes up South Metro. Operators apply for the area their site is in, and the cards on the Philadelphia page show which of the three can still take an application.
Applying from Philadelphia
Fill in the pitch owner application. For each ground MCC confirms one venue and signs an agreement. The Philadelphia page then names that venue, and live cards on it show which of the three grounds still have none. Sites in the city and the suburban counties apply in the same way.
Questions from Philadelphia venues
Can a rec center or school field host a ground?
Venues of many kinds can apply through the pitch owner application. MCC confirms a single venue for the ground, signs an agreement, and the venue is then named on the Philadelphia page.
Does the site have to be within the city limits?
No. The grounds cover the wider region, so a site in Delaware or Montgomery County fits its ground as well as one in South Philadelphia. Most teams will prefer the nearest ground.
Who supplies the teams and officials?
The venue supplies neither. Teams sign up on this site, and referees and crew are recruited through the join page. A venue brings its pitches and its hours on the fixture dates.
