Host a tournament in Toronto

Three Toronto venues are still to be confirmed, one for each of York/North, Mississauga/West and Scarborough/East. The venue that takes a ground hosts 64 to 128 amateur teams for the Pitch Round, which lasts from 9 April until 9 May 2027. Pitch owners across the Greater Toronto Area can apply on this page.

What a Toronto venue takes on

A Toronto venue hosts its ground's matches in 40-minute slots on the fixture dates. Groups of four play across three April weekends, then the playoffs begin on 30 April and the ground's final closes the round on 9 May. The ground holds between 64 and 128 teams, and the venue hosts them all.

Which areas each ground covers

York/North takes in Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill and the north of the city. Mississauga/West takes in Etobicoke, Mississauga and Brampton. Scarborough/East takes in Scarborough, Pickering and Ajax. The cards on the Toronto page mark the grounds that already have a venue and those still open.

Applying through the pitch owner programme

A pitch owner in the GTA starts with the pitch owner application. MCC then confirms a single venue for each of the three grounds and signs an agreement with it. From that point the Toronto page names the venue, so teams entering that ground can see where their matches will be played.

Questions from Toronto venues

Can an indoor soccer facility host a Toronto ground?

Yes. Any pitch owner in the area can use the pitch owner application, whether the site is an indoor hall or an outdoor complex. Each ground needs one venue for 64 to 128 teams, with matches in 40-minute slots on the fixture dates.

Does the venue need to be inside the city of Toronto?

No. The grounds are regions of the Greater Toronto Area. A site in Vaughan, Brampton or Ajax fits its ground as well as one inside the city limits, and most teams will choose the venue closest to home.

Who supplies the teams and the match officials at a venue?

Teams enter through MCC and are placed into groups of four for the ground. Match officials, meaning a referee, two assistants and a fourth official, and the crew come through the join page, so neither teams nor venues appoint them.
